What’s up sis? Gwendolen here, Founder of Girls Trip to Biz Peace.
Can we have a little biz Bible bestie sista chat for a sec?
Because gurl, I know…
You’ve been praying while creating content.
You’ve been posting in Facebook groups.
You’ve been serving people.
You’ve been trusting God.
Meanwhile, your inbox is quieter than a church parking lot on Monday morning.
Your sales notifications are taking a sabbatical.
And your bank account is looking at you like:
“Sooo… what’s our next move, sis?”
So naturally, you head to your Holy Hideout and take it to the Lord.
“God, I know I haven’t been in this prayer closet in a while, but Father… what am I missing?”
If you’ve ever asked that question, I want you to know you’re not alone, sis.
So many Christian business women find themselves in this exact place.
Not because they don’t love Jesus and work hard.
Not because God changed His mind about their calling.
And not because they’re somehow failing.
Sometimes the issue is much simpler than we think.
Sometimes we’re being faithful, but the enemy uses doubt to keep us from being clear.
Now before anybody throws a Bible at me, hear me out.
A lot of Christian female entrepreneurs spend their time explaining what they do.
Very few spend enough time explaining how what they do actually helps people because they’re confused about how to say it.
For example:
“I help Christian women journal and Bible study.”
That’s beautiful.
And it’s true.
But if I’m the woman reading it, I may still be wondering:
“Okay… but how does that help me stop crying in my prayer closet over this business while eating a bag of chips?”
Here’s what the Holy Spirit shifted that landed much better with my audience:
“I help Christian women seek God’s peace, wisdom, and direction through life, love, and business struggles so they can stop striving, hear His voice more clearly, and build a business with Him instead of carrying everything by themselves.”
See the difference?
One explains the activity.
The other explains the transformation.
People aren’t usually lying awake at 2:17 a.m. thinking:
“I desperately need another membership, journal, or coaching program.”
No ma’am.
They’re thinking:
- I need peace.
- I need clarity.
- I need direction.
- I need God to show me what to do.
- I need help with my bills.
That’s what they’re searching for.
Sis, listen. God has entrusted you with unique spiritual gifts and a calling that genuinely helps people. Stewardship means making it easy for them to understand how you can serve them.
Not because we’re chasing money.
Not because we’re trying to become internet famous.
Not because we’re manipulating people.
Because God deserves excellence.
And excellence includes communication.
But can I lovingly step on your toes for a second?
What if the issue isn’t your marketing?
What if the issue isn’t your content?
What if God is trying to get your attention somewhere else?
Ooooooop.
I know. I know.
Nobody likes that question.
The Holy Spirit got honest with me, and I pray this blesses you.
Sometimes we’re asking God for a business breakthrough while ignoring something He already told us to do in a different area of our lives.
Maybe it’s a boundary.
Maybe it’s forgiveness.
Maybe it’s a conversation.
Maybe it’s obedience.
Maybe it’s finally taking the step He’s been nudging you toward for months.
For me, it was letting a relationship go.
Sir, yes sir. LOL.
Gurl, I did that and BAM—God blessed me with a $1,400 event.
All I’m saying is sometimes breakthrough isn’t hiding inside a new business strategy.
Sometimes it’s hiding inside an old command from Abba.
That’s why I always say there’s a huge difference between building a business for God and building a business with God.
Building for God sounds like:
“Lord, bless what I’m doing.”
Building with God sounds like:
“Lord, show me what You’re doing so I can join You.”
One puts us in charge.
The other keeps God in the CEO seat.
And if God is truly the CEO, then our job isn’t to force results.
Our job is to:
- Listen.
- Obey.
- Steward.
- Trust.
- Take the next fearlessly obedient step.
Then leave the outcome in His hands.
So before you create another post, spend another hour tweaking your website, or convince yourself you need another course, ask yourself:
- Is it from the Trinity?
- Is it clear who I help?
- Is it clear what problem I help solve?
- Is it clear how God uses my gifts to serve others?
- Is there anything God has already asked me to do that I’ve been avoiding?
Because sometimes the answer isn’t more hustle like the world teaches.
Sometimes it’s more clarity.
Sometimes it’s deeper obedience.
And sometimes it’s both.
